You’ve dreamt of a big family since you were a small maiden. Now the time has finally arrived: your union has been blessed by the priest and hopefully your womb will be equally fulfilled. Even though we all know all life is a gift from God, a miracle and mystery, there are some things you can do to help conception and figure out the gender of a baby! In this article, we will give you some short tips which we got from the book De Secretis Mulierum from Pseudo Albertus Magnus from the 14th century. A man of knowledge!
1: Don’t have intercourse in unusal positions
This might cause the man’s matter to slip out or arrange in the wrong order. This will lower the chances of having a baby, or heighten the chances of having a baby who is missing some fingers (due to the loss of the matter of which the baby will be formed!) Because of this, intercourse in positions where the woman is upright might even be seen as sinful, because it hinders nature.
2: Do have intercourse this way, as said by Albertus Magnus:
After the middle of the night or during daybreak, the man should take the initiative to arouse the woman. He should talk to her in a jesting manner, kiss and embrace her and tickle her lower parts. Then, when the woman begins to speak as if she were babbling, the male ought to mix with her. The woman must remain absolutely still. After the act, the man must lie on top of the woman for about an hour. When the hour has passed, they should both go asleep.
3: Affect the gender of your child!
After the act, the male and female seed will have mixed together. If you lie on your right side, you will help to concieve a male. If you lie on your left side, you will help to concieve a female. This is because the right side of the body is opposite to the heart and therefore the most warm. Males have more blood (heat) in their humours.
4: Know whether you’ve concieved right away
Do you feel pain in your kidneys after laying with your husband? Good news! You might have concieved! The blood from your kidneys traveled to your uterus. Other signs are: changes in complexion or unusual food cravings.
5: Find out whether your child is male or female
Are you always cold? You’re having a girl! This is because girls are colder in nature. Another way to figure out what the gender is, is by testing your milk. If a drop of milk when spilled on the surface doesn’t split and looks fat, you’re carrying a boy. You can also let a drop fall into a bowl of water. If the drop sinks, youre having a boy. I fit floats, it’s a girl! Last but not least: check which breast is bigger. The right one indicates a boy, the left one a girl.
