It’s the second day of Easter! A day that is traditionally celebrated with lots of eggs, and nuts. Now most of the family has left after the first day of Easter, you’re at risk to get bored.. What to do on this day?
Play a traditional Gronings Eastergame: Lommerken!
Lommerken is a game in which you can earn nuts. Always good as a mid-day snack, or to keep for when you get hungry later on. To play the game, you’ll need boiled eggs, a roof shingle, and a little lot of sand outside. Draw a circle in the sand, and build a little wall of sand around it. Now you lay the shingle on the wall, making it tilt a little bit. At the end of the shingle, in the sand cirkel, you put down one of the eggs. Now you and the other players each take turns; roll your egg off the shingle, and try to hit the egg at the end of the shingle! Whoever hits it, earns a nut. You can make the game more difficult by positioning the first egg further away from the shingle. You could of course also make a bet who will win.. but betting is also a little sinfull..
